The deadline for rural hospitals and healthcare systems to apply to join the National Rural ACO and receive federal grant funds is May 1.
Nevada City, Calif.-based National Rural ACO is a consortium of community health systems formed to help provide rural hospitals and health systems with the resources and support necessary to launch an accountable care organization.
CMS has allotted $114 million in grant funds for 2016 to help rural hospitals and health systems become ACOs. The funds can cover the full cost of membership for 2016 applicants.
To receive funding, applicants must complete the application letter by May 1. The application can be found here.
