Just weeks after its selection for the Next Generation Accountable Care Organization program, Harrisburg, Pa.-based River Health ACO chose to leave the program because it would not be able to meet the required cost targets.
RiverHealth ACO is a partnership of Harrisburg-based PinnacleHealth System and Williamsport, Pa.-based Susquehanna Health and affiliates, and previously participated in the Medicare Shared Savings Program.
A statement from PinnacleHealth says the ACO was able to "manage the rate of increase in costs to below the national average," but that it would not be able to meet the new targets set by CMS.
