Four regional Pennsylvania healthcare organizations are partnering to launch a Medicare Shared Savings Program accountable care organization, called Penn State Health Care Partners.
The organization is one of 89 new MSSP ACOs announced in December.
The partners include Lancaster, Pa.-based Physician Alliance, Postsville, Pa.-based Integrated Medical Group and Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey.
Penn State Health Care Partners will cover 27,500 Medicare beneficiaries under the program, which will focus on care coordination for Medicare recipients, according to a statement.
The Medicare Shared Savings Program has 405 participating ACOs and covers 7.2 million people.
