Integrated Health Network of Wisconsin, based in Brookfield, is welcoming St. Louis-based Catholic nonprofit SSM Health to its clinically integrated network of health systems to strengthen coverage in the south central region of Wisconsin.
SSM Health will become part of IHN's accountable care organization, growing it to 45 hospitals, 555 clinics, more than 5,700 providers and reaching more than 3 million patients.
As part of the ACO, SSM Health will have access to IHN's data and care management tools to help meet care coordination, quality and cost goals.
"The scope of SSM Health, its hospitals and clinics and their substantial experience in managing large patient populations through ownership of Dean Health Plan are significant, and we are eager to determine how to best leverage that to improve quality and control costs," Kurt Janavitz, CEO of Integrated Health Network, said in a statement.
In Wisconsin, SSM Health owns three hospitals: St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, St. Mary's Janesville Hospital and St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo. It also includes 55 Dean Clinic locations, more than 700 physicians and advanced practice clinicians and the Dean Health Plan.
