Heritage California ACO, an affiliate of Marina del Rey, Calif.-based Heritage Provider Network, will transition from the Pioneer accountable care program to the Next Generation ACO model.
"As we move forward with this transition from the Pioneer ACO Model to Next Gen ACO, we will be able to provide more opportunities to increase the level of care that is so vital to all of our members," said Richard Merkin, MD, president and CEO of HPN.
CMS unveiled the Next Generation ACO model last March. The model is a demonstration for healthcare providers who are prepared to take on increased risk, and it aims to better engage beneficiaries.
