Phoenix-based Health Choice, a managed care organization and insurer, announced plans to team up with the physician-led Phoenix Children's Care Network to form an accountable care organization with a focus on improving outcomes for pediatric care.
PCCN will first work on providing coordinated pediatric care for beneficiaries of Health Choice Arizona's acute Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System Medicaid plan. More than 15,000 Health Choice Preferred enrollees in Arizona will also have access to PCCN's network of pediatricians as part of the partnership, called Health Choice Preferred ACO.
The new ACO will focus on improving care delivery, reporting and sharing EHRs and provider collaboration, according to the report.
Health Choice is a division of Franklin, Tenn.-based IASIS Healthcare, which owns and operates acute-care facilities in urban and suburban areas.
