Florida Blue, Tampa Bay Integrated Healthcare Network form ACO

Florida Blue and Tampa Bay (Fla.) Integrated Health Network last week announced they have introduced a physician-centric accountable care program to the Tampa Bay area, effective this April.

The new program will focus on leveraging care coordination to improve health outcomes for patients, while meeting quality metrics and reducing costs. Florida Blue and TBIH's network of providers will share financial risk for the patient population.

No hospitals are included in the arrangement, making it Florida Blue's first physician-centric ACO program, according to a statement. The Florida payer has 19 commercial accountable care agreements in Florida to date.
