First Coast Health Alliance, Florida Blue Form Accountable Care Arrangement

First Coast Health Alliance, a physician hospital organization established by St. Augustine, Fla.-based Flagler Hospital that includes 188 physicians, has partnered with Florida Blue for an accountable care program.

The program has a value-based payment structure and aims to reward transparency, care coordination, consumer empowerment and reduced redundancy, according to the news release.

"We are extremely pleased to work with Florida Blue in an effort to achieve our common goals of improving health and reducing costs," Joe Gordy, president and CEO of Flagler Hospital, said in the release.

The program became effective Jan. 1 and includes Florida Blue members in northeast Florida.
