Cigna announced Wednesday it launched three collaborative care initiatives with medical groups in North Texas, which have similar goals to accountable care organizations.
The following three medical groups, which collectively include 260 physicians, launched initiatives with Cigna April 1.
- Catalyst Health Network, based in Plano, Texas
- Dallas Methodist Physicians Network
- Genesis Accountable Physician Network, based in Dallas
The program will cover 22,000 Cigna patients across the three groups, whose care will be monitored and coordinated by the medical groups. Patients will also have access to registered nurse clinical care coordinators as part of the program. The care coordinators will be aligned with a team of case managers from Cigna, who will provide patient-specific data to help identify at-risk patients and gaps in care, so that coordinators can help guide the patient through the care continuum.
Cigna now has nine collaborative care initiatives in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
