Cigna-HealthSpring announced Tuesday an expanded agreement with Dallas-based Genesis Accountable Physician Network, the accountable care organization of Genesis Physicians Group.
Cigna-HealthSpring is a Cigna company that offers Medicare Advantage and Medicare Part D plans.
Effective Jan. 1, the agreement will improve in-network access to GPG physicians and services for Cigna-HealthSpring beneficiaries. Patients will also have access to population health management services such as smoking cessation, weight management and heart disease reversal, through GenHealth, a joint venture between GPG and Healthways.
In addition to improving population health, the agreement aims to improve care collaboration, improve quality and lower costs, according to the statement.
