Wilmington, Del.-based Christiana Care Quality Partners ACO is expanding and changing its name to eBrightHealth ACO on Jan. 1.
The Medicare Shared Savings Program ACO is welcoming two new health system partners — Lewes, Del.-based Beebe Healthcare and Berlin, Md.-based Atlantic General Hospital and Health System — as well as eight community practices and LaRed Health Center, a federally qualified health center with four locations throughout Delaware.
The ACO joined the Medicare program at the beginning of 2016 as a partnership between Dover, Del.-based Bayhealth; Wilmington, Del.-based Christiana Care Health System; Seaford, Del.-based Nanticoke Health Services; Westside Family Healthcare, an FQHC in New Castle and Kent/Sussex Counties of Delaware; and a handful of independent physicians. With the 2017 provider additions, the ACO will grow to cover 45,000 beneficiaries, nearly double its original 26,000 patients.
"The collaboration among the original partners of the ACO has been a tremendous benefit for our physician colleagues and Medicare beneficiaries," Alan Greenglass, MD, president of the ACO, said in a statement. "Beebe's and Atlantic General's decision to join this ACO clearly underscores that this partnership is doing something positive and powerful for the health of our communities."
