5 Recently Announced ACOs

The following is a roundup of accountable care organizations or collaborative care agreements that were reported within the last two weeks.

1. Aetna, Fresenius Medical Care Enter Into Collaborative Care Agreement
Waltham, Mass.-based Fresenius Medical Care and Aetna entered into a collaborative care agreement aimed at improving the quality of care for Aetna's Medicare Advantage members who have end-stage renal disease.

2. Humana, UC San Diego Health System Launch ACO
UC San Diego Health System and Humana partnered to form an ACO aimed at serving Humana Medicare Advantage members in San Diego.

3. LHS Health Network, Aetna Form ACO
LHS Health Network — a network of physician practices, hospitals and other healthcare providers affiliated with Lourdes Health System in Camden, N.J. — formed an ACO agreement with Aetna.

4. Boeing to Contract With Providence-Swedish, UW ACOs for Employees
Boeing selected two Seattle-based ACOs — one affiliated with Providence Health & Services and Swedish Health Services, the other with UW Medicine —for its new Preferred Partnership option for employees.

5. Aetna, Mercy Health Partner For Accountable Care
Aetna and Cincinnati, Ohio-based Mercy Health announced they are forming an ACO, which will be Aetna's first commercial ACO in the Cincinnati area.
