Dr. Graber is a national leader in patient safety and the originator of Patient Safety Awareness Week, which began in 2003 and is now recognized internationally. Dr. Graber has an extensive background in biomedical and health services research. He has published more than 80 peer-reviewed articles. He is professor emeritus of medicine at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. In 2014, Dr. Graber was honored with the John M. Eisenberg Patient Safety and Quality Award from the Joint Commission and National Quality Forum for his outstanding achievements and dedication to the advancement of patient safety and healthcare quality.
