As deputy administrator and CMO of CMS, Dr. Conway leads the Center for Clinical Standards and Quality — the center responsible for all quality measures, quality improvement programs and clinical standards in all 50 states — and the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation. Combined, CCSQ and CMMI's budgets exceed $12 billion. Previous positions Dr. Conway has held include director of hospital medicine at Cincinnati Children's Hospital, assistant professor at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center and CMO of HHS, to name a few. In February, Dr. Conway was a speaker at The Advisory Board Company's inaugural Future of Health Care Summit, where he discussed how patient safety improvements have led to $12 billion in savings from 2010 to 2014.
