Rodney Hochman, MD. President and CEO of Providence St. Joseph Health (Renton, Wash., and Irvine, Calif.). In his role as president and CEO of Providence St. Joseph Health, Dr. Hochman leads a faith-based nonprofit health and social services system that includes 50 hospitals, 829 clinics, 111,000 employees — whom they refer to as cargivers — and 11,915 licensed beds.The health system was formed through the merger of Renton-based Providence Health & Services and Irvine, Calif.-based St. Joseph Health. He has previous experience as executive vice president of Sentara Healthcare and president and CEO of Swedish Health Services. In 2015, Press Ganey named Dr. Hochman Innovator of the Year and in 2017 he received the Partners in Care Foundation Vision and Excellence in Health Care Leadership Award. An internal medicine physician by training, Dr. Hochman is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Rheumatology.
