Mark Laret. CEO of UC San Francisco Health. A 30-year healthcare management veteran, Mr. Laret joined UC San Francisco in 2000 and currently leads the four-hospital system as CEO. During his tenure, the health system built a $1.5 billion hospital complex at UCSF's Mission Bay Campus, with Mr. Laret personally raising $600 million in private contributions for the facility. Mr. Laret is the immediate past chair of the California Hospital Association and the past chair of Association of American Medical Colleges' board of directors. Outside of his UCSF responsibilities, Mr. Laret volunteers frequently with international charity Mercy Ships, which delivers medical care on hospital ships to underserved African communities.
