John Noseworthy, MD. President and CEO of Mayo Clinic (Rochester, Minn.). Dr. Noseworthy joined Mayo Clinic in 1990 as a clinician and spent 20 years devoted to clinical care, research and advancement in his specialty, neurology. In 2009, the $11 billion nonprofit health system appointed Dr. Noseworthy president and CEO. During his tenure, Mayo Clinic grew operations in five states to treat more than 1 million people each year. The health system boasts around 63,000 employees, and Mayo's Rochester hospital was ranked No. 1 in the nation by U.S. News & World Report in 2017-18 for the second consecutive year. Prior to his CEO appointment, Dr. Noseworthy served as the chair of Mayo Clinic's department of neurology, medical director of the department of development and vice chair of Mayo Clinic Rochester's executive board. He is currently a health governor of the World Economic Forum.
