MetroHealth System (Cleveland). With roots dating back to 1837, MetroHealth System has grown into an integrated health system with an acute care hospital, a skilled nursing facility and more than 25 locations throughout Cuyahoga County. The system has more than 1 million patient visits annually, including more than 100,000 in its emergency department. MetroHealth offers employees a wide array of benefits and perks, including tuition reimbursement, continuing education opportunities, wellness programs and professional development opportunities. Through the system's Think Tank Challenge, staff can earn prize money by coming up with ideas for improving processes and saving money. Last year's challenge generated more than 40 submissions, with two teams splitting the $300,000 reward, which is being used to implement their innovative ideas. In 2016, MetroHealth was recognized by the Employers Resource Council as one of northeast Ohio's 99 best places to work for the 13th time.
