Meet the organization: With 7,200 employees, Huntsville Hospital is the second largest employer in Madison County, and 800 of those employees have worked at the hospital for more than 20 years. Philanthropy is a cornerstone of the workforce, evidenced by a giving club called The Life Savers that has contributed millions of dollars back to the hospital. Most recently, their gift helped build a centralized intensive care unit waiting room furnished for nearly 100 family members of patients. Employees have also donated thousands of units of blood, built Habitat for Humanity homes and donated tractor-trailer loads of supplies for communities affected by natural disasters.
