Meet the organization: Boston Medical Center is the 496-bed, nonprofit teaching affiliate for Boston University School of Medicine that includes more than 5,000 employees. The hospital's staff demonstrated their commitment during the Boston Marathon bombing last year, as the hospital took in 23 patients from the marathon and supported their colleagues in the aftermath. The hospital held BMC Strong: A Program of Hope & Healing, where employees could come together, reflect on the tragedy and support each other. On the six-month anniversary of the bombing, BMC held a forum for staff to gather and assess its collective healing process.
