Richard Afable, MD, President and CEO of St. Joseph Hoag Health (Irvine, Calif.). In his role as president and CEO of St. Joseph Hoag Health, Dr. Afable oversees seven hospitals, an expansive physician network and numerous ambulatory sites throughout Orange County and the High Desert region of California. Prior to assuming his leadership position with St. Joseph Hoag Health, Dr. Afable practiced clinical medicine for more than 15 years. He previously served as clinical assistant professor of medicine at Northwestern University in Chicago and as an associate professor of medicine at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, N.C.
