Margot Hartmann, MD, PhD. President and CEO of Nantucket (Mass.) Cottage Hospital. Dr. Hartmann has led Nantucket Cottage Hospital, a safety net hospital on Nantucket Island located 30 miles out to sea, for the past six years. During her tenure, the hospital has expanded the number of visiting physicians and finalized a partnership with Bethesda, Md.-based Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center. The hospital now includes more than 30 visiting physicians in 24 subspecialties, as well as 24/7 emergency and labor and delivery departments. Dr. Hartmann previously worked as an emergency physician at the hospital for more than a decade.
