Elizabeth Nabel, MD. President of Brigham Health (Boston). Dr. Nabel is the president of Brigham Health, overseeing Brigham and Women's Hospital as well as the system's 150 outpatient practices and 1,200 physicians. In 2015, she was appointed chief health and medical adviser to the NFL to provide strategic input to the NFL's medical, health and scientific efforts. Dr. Nabel previously served as director of the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, where she leveraged a $3 billion research portfolio to pioneer genomics, stem cell treatment and translational research. As a cardiologist and researcher, Dr. Nabel holds 17 patents and 250 scientific publications. She currently serves on the TEDMED editorial advisory board and previously served on the editorial boards for The New England Journal of Medicine and Science Translational Medicine.
