Amy Compton-Phillips, MD. Executive Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer of Providence St. Joseph Health (Renton, Wash.). As vice president and chief clinical officer of Providence St. Joseph Health, Dr. Compton-Phillips is responsible for the system's 100,000-plus caregivers and 20,000-plus employed or affiliated physicians. She works with physicians, nurses and pharmacists to foster clinical research, innovation and entrepreneurship to ultimately achieve better health outcomes. Dr. Compton-Phillips joined Providence Health & Services in August 2015, before it merged with St. Joseph Health in 2016, from The Permanente Foundation, where she served as chief quality officer. She was previously physician director of the Columbia, Md., geographic region of Oakland, Calif.-based Kaiser Permanente.
