Thomas M. Priselac. President and CEO of Cedars-Sinai Health System (Los Angeles). Mr. Priselac joined Cedars-Sinai in 1979 and became executive vice president in 1988. He became president and CEO on Jan. 17, 1994 — the day the Northridge earthquake struck the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles, killing more than 60 people and injuring more than 9,000. Since then, Mr. Priselac has kept busy rebuilding parts of the hospital that were damaged in the earthquake and leading the healthcare system. In addition to his career at Cedars-Sinai, he serves as chairman of the American Hospital Association board of trustees and was recently appointed to the board of the Center for Medical Interoperability, a nonprofit organization focused on accelerating the seamless exchange of health information. This September, he oversaw Cedars-Sinai's purchase of the 145-bed Marina Del Rey (Calif.) Hospital.
