Anthony Tersigni, EdD. President and CEO of Ascension (St. Louis). Dr. Tersigni — a healthcare executive with more than 35 years of experience — serves as the first president and CEO of Ascension, the largest nonprofit health system in the U.S. and the world's largest Catholic health system. He assumed the role in 2012 when Ascension was formed as the parent company of Ascension Health. Previously, Dr. Tersigni was the president and CEO of Ascension Health from 2004 to 2012, and he also served as the system's executive vice president and COO from 2001 through 2003. Dr. Tersigni serves as president of the Vatican's International Confederation of Catholic Health Care Institutions and is a past chair of the Catholic Health Association of the United States, among several other appointments.
