Nancy M. Schlichting. CEO of Henry Ford Health System (Detroit). Ms. Schlichting was named CEO of Henry Ford Health System in 2003, prior to which she held a number of executive positions dating back to 1998, including senior vice president and chief administrative officer of the system and executive vice president and COO and president and CEO of Henry Ford Hospital. Under her leadership, Henry Ford Health System went from posting a $12 million loss in 2013 to posting a net income of $27.8 million in 2014. Ms. Schlichting announced she will retire from Henry Ford in December 2016. Since her announcement, President Barack Obama revealed plans to select Ms. Schlichting as chairperson of the Commission on Care, which works with the Veterans' Health Administration to establish the best way to deliver healthcare to military veterans.
