James R. Nathan. President and CEO of Lee Memorial Health System (Ft. Myers/Cape Coral, Fla.). Mr. Nathan has been with Lee Memorial for more than 30 years, joining in 1975 and becoming president in 1981. He left in 1997 to help shape healthcare reform and work with the American Hospital Association. Mr. Nathan returned to Lee Memorial as president again in 2000. Under his leadership, Lee Memorial has experienced growth: In 2009, LMHS merged two recently acquired hospitals into one campus, and there are plans to open a children's hospital in 2017, for instance. Mr. Nathan, a fellow of the AmericanCollege of Healthcare Executives, holds an MBA and a master's degree in healthcare administration from XavierUniversity.
