Elaine Thompson, PhD. President and CEO of Lakeland (Fla.) Regional Health Systems. Prior to joining Lakeland Regional Health Systems in 2010, Dr. Thompson was president of Lankenau Hospital in Wynnewood, Pa., and executive vice president and COO of St. Luke's Hospital and Health Network in Bethlehem, Pa. During her tenure at LRMC, the fifth largest hospital in the state, the health system has been named one of six hospitals in the nation to earn Most Wired Advanced status, one of the 40 top employers in the world by Gallup twice, a Forbes America's Best Employer recipient, and its nationally recognized Emergency Department has been awarded EmCare Genesis Cup and Patient Innovation of the Year by the Florida Hospital Association. Dr. Thompson is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and received her PhD in biomedical science and engineering from Drexel University in Philadelphia.
