Elizabeth G. Nabel, MD. President of Brigham Health (Boston). Dr. Nabel, a cardiologist and biomedical researcher, became president of Brigham Health in 2010, overseeing Brigham and Women's Hospital as well as 150 outpatient practices with more than 1,200 affiliated physicians. She is a professor of medicine at Boston-based Harvard Medical School and facilitated the creation of a national teaching hospital in Haiti. In 2015, the National Football League named Dr. Nabel chief health and medical advisor, a newly created role that requires her to offer input on the league's medical and health initiatives. Prior to joining Brigham and Women's, Dr. Nabel spent four years directing the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute of the National Institutes of Health.
