Craig B. Thompson, MD. President and CEO of Memorial Sloan Kettering (New York City). In November 2010, Dr. Thompson took over as president and CEO of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. For the 11 years prior to his appointment, he was affiliated with the University of Pennsylvania, where he served as director of the Abramson Cancer Center and associate vice president for cancer services at Philadelphia-based University of Pennsylvania Health System. Dr. Thompson has also been an assistant professor of medicine at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, as well as a professor of medicine and director of the Gwen Knapp Center for Lupus and Immunology Research at the University of Chicago. A board-certified internist and medical oncologist, Dr. Thompson has founded three biotechnology companies and holds numerous patents related to immunotherapy and apoptosis.
