Richard Afable, MD. President and CEO of St. Joseph Hoag Health (Newport Beach, Calif.). As president and CEO of St. Joseph Hoag Health, an integrated delivery system, Dr. Afable oversees seven hospitals, numerous ambulatory sites throughout Orange County and an expansive physician network. Prior to his current position, Dr. Afable spent 10 years in private practice in Chicago specializing in internal medicine and genetics, was executive vice president and CMO of Newtown Square, Pa.-based Catholic Health East, was a clinical assistant professor of medicine at Northwestern University in Chicago and was founder, president and CEO for Preferred Physician Partners, an Ohio-based physician practice management company and was president and CEO for Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian. He also serves as executive vice president and for St. Joseph Hoag Health in Southern California.
