Peter L. Slavin, MD. President of Massachusetts General Hospital (Boston). Prior to being named president of Massachusetts General Hospital in 2003, Dr. Slavin was chairman and CEO of the Massachusetts General Physicians Organization, CMO and senior vice president of MGH and president of the Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. As president of MGH, he manages an operating budget of $1.9 billion annually, a 900-inpatient bed facility and the largest research program of any hospital in the U.S. Currently, Dr. Slavin lectures and teaches internal medicine and healthcare management at Harvard Medical School in Boston as a healthcare policy professor.
