John Shannon, MD. CEO of Cook County Health & Hospitals System (Chicago). Dr. Shannon was chief of clinical integration for CCHHS while also serving as interim CEO before being named CEO in June 2014. He joined the medical staff of John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County in 1990 and served as director of the Adult Asthma clinic, an associate chair of the department of medicine and chief of the divisions of pulmonary and critical care medicine at Stroger. Dr. Shannon then served as executive vice president and CMO of Parkland Health & Hospital System in Dallas before rejoining CCHHS in 2013. Additionally, he served on the executive board of the American Lung Association of Metropolitan Chicago and the Chicago Asthma Consortium.
