Massachusetts General Hospital (Boston). Mass General is a 999-bed medical center, one of the founding partners of Boston-based Partners HealthCare and the first teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School. It was ranked the No. 8 hospital in the country for orthopedics and was rated high performing in hip and knee replacements by U.S. News & World Report for 2016-17. The Magnet-recognized hospital is also a Blue Distinction Center for Knee and Hip Replacement. Between the nine centers within Mass General's orthopedic department, more than 80,000 patients are treated each year.
