Brigham and Women's Hospital (Boston). In October, Brigham and Women's opened the doors of its Building for Transformative Medicine, a translational research building aimed in part at advancing care for orthopedic and rheumatologic conditions. The hospital's Orthopaedic and Arthritis Center of Excellence is known for its research in bone and joint conditions and receives National Institutes of Health funding. U.S. News & World Report ranked Brigham and Women's among the top 50 hospitals in the nation for orthopedics for 2016-17 and CareChex ranked the hospital among the top 100 hospitals in the nation for orthopedic care for 2017. Brigham and Women's is a Blue Cross Blue Shield Association Blue Distinction Center for Knee and Hip Replacement and was rated high performing for hip and knee replacement surgeries by U.S. News & World Report.
