Rush University Medical Center (Chicago). Rush University Medical Center's cardiology department includes 41 specialists focused on heart disease and surgery. Rush joined with six other Chicago-based academic medical centers and teaching hospitals to form Chicago Adult Congenital Heart Network, designed as an inter-institutional network to treat Chicagoans with congenital heart disease. U.S. News & World Report ranked Rush University Medical Center among the top 50 hospitals in the nation for adult cardiology and heart surgery for 2017-18. Blue Cross Blue Shield Association also recognized Rush's excellence in heart services with the Blue Distinction Center designation for cardiac care.
