In 2015, MedStar Washington Hospital Center was ranked No. 39 in the nation for adult cardiology and heart surgery and was recognized by U.S. News & World Report as high-performing in heart bypass surgery in the publication's common care ratings. Additionally, the cardiac surgery program at the hospital's MedStar Heart Institute received a three-star rating from the Society of Thoracic Surgeons for the seventh year in a row.
