Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center. Los Angeles Medical Center has one of the largest cardiac surgery programs in the western part of the country. The hospital was ranked No. 25 for cardiology and heart surgery by U.S. News & World Report for 2015-16, and was ranked No. 29 nationally for cardiac care by CareChex in 2015. U.S. News & World Report also recognized the hospital as high-performing for heart failure and heart bypass surgery in its common care ratings. The medical center was named one of the top 50 hospitals for cardiac surgery by Healthgrades in 2015, and Healthgrades also named it one of the top 100 hospitals for cardiac care this year.
