University of North Carolina Hospitals (Chapel Hill). UNC Hospitals includes the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, which was established in 1975. It is a National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. N.C. Cancer Hospital, which was completed in 2009, is the clinical home of UNC Lineberger. UNC Hospitals is a Blue Distinction Center for Complex & Rare Cancers, and U.S. News & World Report ranked it as one of the top 50 hospitals in the nation for cancer care for 2015-16.
