Indiana University Health (Indianapolis). The Melvin and Bren Simon Cancer Center was established in 1992 at Indiana University, earned its first National Cancer Institute-designation in 1999 and has had it renewed since. The center has a along history of research developments and cancer-fighting firsts, including the world's first and only healthy breast tissue bank and drug breakthroughs. U.S. News & World Report ranked IU Health Academic Medical Center as one of the top 50 hospitals for cancer care in the nation for 2015-16, and CareChex ranked the hospital highly for cancer care as well this year.
