As one of the busiest academic neurosurgery centers in the country, Vanderbilt's department of neurosurgery trains 21 residents annually. Vanderbilt also supports a robust spine program through the Vanderbilt Spine Center, which has earned the Blue Distinction Center for spine surgery designation. The center touts 96 percent patient satisfaction with surgeons among lumbar spine surgery patients and 97 percent among cervical spine surgery patients.
