Sutter Health's Neuroscience Institute's three California locations in Sacramento, San Francisco and East Bay provide convenient neurological and spine services as well as clinical trials. The Sutter Neuroscience Institute provided more than 10,000 neurosurgery and 4,600 spine surgery outpatient visits in 2015, the most recent data available. The institute supported 7,344 inpatient visits, including neurology, neurosurgery, spine, stroke and trauma patients. The specialists at Sutter Neuroscience Institute also focus on head trauma and injury, providing concussion care to more than 1,200 adult patients and 621 pediatric patients in 2015. Sutter also offers robust spine services, and in 2018 CareChex named Sacramento-based Sutter Medical Center among the top 25 hospitals in the nation for spine surgery.
