St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center (Phoenix). The Barrow Neurological Institute at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center, a Dignity Health affiliate, has a 50-plus year history providing neurosurgery and spine care. Founded in 1962, Barrow has become the training ground for many of the world's leading neurosurgeons and spine specialists and currently includes more than 100 dedicated neurology and neurosurgery subspecialists. The hospital is also home to the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center, established in 1997 to promote Parkinson's research and treatment, and Barrow's Spine Center. U.S. News & World Report ranked St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center among the top 20 hospitals in the nation for neurosurgery and neurology in 2017-18, and CareChex ranked the hospital No. 4 in the country for neurological surgery in 2018.
