Lancaster (Pa.) General Health. A member of Penn Medicine, Lancaster General Health provides neurological care through the Lancaster Health Neuroscience Institute, a 22,000-square-foot, $1.4 million facility that offers a consolidated approach to neurosurgical and spinal care. The 663-bed nonprofit health system opened its new neuroscience institute in September 2017 to provide services to patients with memory issues and concussions, as well as rehabilitation for stroke and Parkinson's disease patients. Beyond providing traditional medical care, the institute has adopted teleconferencing capabilities in collaboration with Penn Medicine as well as additional clinical trial participation. The system has garnered national attention for its spine program as well; the 533-bed nonprofit Lancaster General Hospital, Lancaster General's flagship facility, is ranked No. 1 in Pennsylvania for spinal fusion and spinal surgery on CareChex's Hospital Quality Ratings 2018.
