Beaumont Hospital-Royal Oak (Mich.). Beaumont Hospital-Royal Oak unveiled its $22 million Neuroscience Center in 2014, which includes 11 hospital-based clinics. The center earned The Joint Commission's spine surgery specialty certification upon opening; at the time, Beaumont reported 2,100 spine surgeries annually. Physicians and specialists at the center are on the forefront of treatment for Alzheimer's disease, brain tumors and Parkinson's disease, and they employ minimally invasive techniques to address spinal deformities and conditions. The hospital is also a Blue Cross Blue Shield designated Blue Distinction Center+ for spine surgery. U.S. News & World Report ranked Beaumont Hospital-Royal Oak among the top 50 hospitals in the country for adult neurology and neurosurgery in 2017-18.
