UCSF Medical Center, which has 12,000-plus employees and 46,000 annual hospital admissions, was ranked No. 6 by U.S. News & World Report for adult orthopedics for 2017-18. The hospital also aims to improve orthopedic care around the world with the Institute for Global Orthopaedics and Traumatology, a nonprofit initiative founded in 2006.
