Mount Sinai Hospital (New York City).Mount Sinai Hospital's orthopedic program offers the full spectrum of musculoskeletal care services, including joint replacement, spine and sports medicine services. In 2017, Mount Sinai became the first hospital in New York state to offer percutaneous foot surgery for bunions and hammertoes. Several physicians at Mount Sinai treat elite and professional athletes and the hospital is an official medical provider for the U.S. Tennis Association and the U.S. Open Tennis Championships. Mount Sinai is also home to the National Football League Spine Care Program for Retired Players at Mount Sinai. Created in 2009, the center provides specialized spine treatment to retired players suffering from spinal injuries and concussions. Mount Sinai Hospital's physicians and scientists also have access to research facilities through the Leni & Peter W. May Department of Orthopaedics at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. The National Institutes of Health, AO Research Foundation and Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation have all provided funding for orthopedic research at Mount Sinai totaling around $1.77 million in 2016.
