Board-certified physicians working in Cedars-Sinai's orthopedic department are able to treat patients with a variety of conditions through surgical and nonsurgical treatments and reconstruction. The hospital founded its joint replacement program in 1999, and the program has grown to include seven orthopedic surgeons who performed 1,779 total joint replacements in 2016. Cedars-Sinai physicians performed more than 5,000 inpatient and outpatient orthopedic surgeries last year, including 220 outpatient hip and knee procedures. U.S. News & World Report ranked Cedars-Sinai Medical Center among the top 10 best hospitals for adult orthopedics for 2017-18. The facility is also a Blue Cross Blue Shield Association designated Blue Distinction Center+ for knee and hip replacement.
