University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics (Iowa City). The only academic medical center in Iowa, University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics is ranked nationally in both adult (No. 31) and pediatric (No. 49) neurology and neurosurgery. The hospital also boasts a team of eight neurosurgeons and three orthopedic surgeons in the UI Spine Center, and UI Hospitals and Clinics is a Blue Distinction Center for Spine Surgery. The Magnet-recognized hospital has also received Healthgrades' Neurosurgery Excellence Award each year since 2014.
